Video Art & Short Film

Bobbitmania

Commissioned by Enrico Tomaselli, Director of Magmart International Video Festival to make a short video about the year 1993, I chose the notorious case of John and Lorena Bobbitt. Garnering International publicity, the landmark case was important for a number of reasons. Marital rape became a crime. Men as well as women could be victimized. From a scientific milestone, it was the first successful reattachment surgery performed in the world. The video was screened in 20 nations in 2013 as part of the program entitled 100 Video Artists Tell a Century.
