Victorian Woman vs THE MAN

Cinematography by Danila Sergeyevich Usov | Starring Colette Copeland & AWG

In the third installment of the Victorian Woman bearing arms series, my alter-ego engages in hand-to-hand combat as she wrestles THE MAN. The trailer features Period 1 (of a 3 period freestyle wrestling match), which results in a tragic loss for the Victorian Woman. Will she be able to make a comeback to defeat THE MAN? Or will HE remain Champion of the World?

Inspired by Dada, Theater of the Absurd, Situationist Theory and contemporary performance art, my performance video work humorously questions cultural norms, creating a spectacle through engaging in “unfeminine” athletic performance.
