This is a series of eco-performances inspired by the landscape and habitats of Lake Granbury, Texas. The Brazos River Snake is a threatened species in the Brazos River system. People kill them, often mistaking them for venomous water moccasins. They are an important component to the lake and river ecology of the area.
As part of my ongoing investigations into art, magic, environmental issues and interspecies communication, I created a protection spell for the Brazos River Snake.
Inspired by Dada and Theater of the Absurd, my work uses humor to provide awareness about important social issues impacting my community both locally and globally.
