Jessica VanNess is a ceramic artist, designer, and creative somatic facilitator based in Austin, Texas. She explores the human experience through creative practice with foraged wild clay. Working directly with local earth: gathering, cleansing, forming, and pit firing. She treats the ceramic process as a framework for self inquiry, nervous system awareness, and transformation. Her work blends geological processes with trauma informed methodology, mindfulness, philosophy, and science. In addition to facilitating workshops and retreats through Process Ceramics, she maintains an evolving art practice that investigates the intersection of modern technology and ancient craft. She invites people to develop a grounded, tactile relationship with clay, creative exploration, and themselves.
